Sgian Dubh is Gaelic for 'black dagger'. Traditionally worn with the top part showing above the kilt hoose on either the outside of the left or right leg (depending upon whether left or right-handed), ranging from from 6-7 inches long, in a variety of styles featuring ornate designs on the handle. Clan crest family badges can be incorporated and countersunk into the centre of the handle if required.
